Birthday + Haul

 Birthday OOTD of course. I actually got this dress at Giant Tiger (Canadian discount super store) for only $20. I find a lot of inexpensive things there, but usually if I go back to get more they’re gone forever unfortunately. But this dress is incredibly comfortable. 

 

So my birthday was actually April 30th – I’m writing this a little late. I didn’t end up doing a whole lot on my actual birthday… Hubby took the day off and we went out for lunch to Wok of Fame which is a place where they will cook the food right in front of you. It is so good (my favourite actually) and they do free birthday meal! Afterwards we did some makeup shopping (Which I will show in the Haul).

Later that night we cuddled up and watched movies the rest of the night. My family also got me an awesome Dairy Queen ice cream cake (chocolate salted caramel). It was amazing since DQ is always awesome. (Mrs Ross as I was recently married).

  
So then on Friday (day after my birthday) hubby and I went on a double date to bowling with my birthday twin. My birthday twin’s name is Mell and we were born same day, same hospital, same year… Just a few hours apart. No doubt we were in the same room as babies. Funny thing is… We only met because we also dated the same guy. 😅 We of course try to do something for our birthday each year. So we went bowling (I actually won surprisingly) and then we went back to her house for pizza, wings and drinks of course. We had a fantastic night! 

The next night we had a BBQ with some family friends over. We made s’mores and again had some drinks! Yes I like my burnt on purpose.

On Sunday we went over to my in laws to celebrate, seriously a whole birthday weekend! Where I got to hang out with my awesome little niece and hubby’s family. We had a lot of fun – ordered subway since pizza, wings and drinks really had a toll on me after so many days of celebrating. 

My mother in law gave me a gorgeous Pandora bead. 

  

I had a really great birthday! 

Now I definitely bought some new makeup, but I wanted to get a bunch of new stuff instead of just a couple things from Sephora so I ended up hitting the drugstore to try some things I haven’t ever tried before (like Nyx). Plus I wanted some new bright lipsticks for summer ☀️

I had a little contest going on my Instagram last week and I really wanted to share some of my enteries with you all. All the girls that entered are so beautiful, strong and confident and I am so proud of them all. I have blanked out a few names on people who would prefer to be a anonymous on my blog. 



I love this photo just as much as I love what she said. She has earned every mark on her tummy and she looks beautiful. 



This one really hit home for me… The story behind it is so strong. I’m so glad she shared this photo with me. 



I personally know this girl and she is such a fighter. I’m so proud of the beautiful woman she’s become.



Isn’t she adorable? I think she’s one of the sweetest girls on Instagram too. 



I love this one because it doesn’t matter if you are 12 or if you’re 85… Everyone needs to start loving themselves. She looks so beautiful and happy! 



This girl is such a wonderful person. I love everything about her, she posted a few pictures but since she’s anon I don’t want to post the facial pictures. But she is beautiful inside and out.

Meeting Ashley Graham



Yesterday I met the beautiful Ashley Graham. If you don’t know who Ashley is you must be living under a rock these past few weeks as she’s been all over the media for being the first plus size woman in a sports illustrated magazine advertisement. She has also been modelling for years, I know I would see her pretty face whenever I went into Additionelle. 

Ashley was seriously so wonderful. She has an amazing personality and she’s very funny. I’m so happy to of met her.

LUSH review



So my husband and I had an early valentines weekend and took a trip to LUSH. We picked up quite the little haul including unicorn horn bubble bar, sex bomb bath bomb, twilight bath bomb, hottie massage bar and blue FUN soap. 

Let’s start with the unicorn horn bubble bar…

This is so adorable (much more vibrant in person) though mine didn’t come with the little stars but I think it’s because they ran out of product. They weren’t suppose to get these again before Valentine’s Day at my lush but they had a surprise shipment! This has a soft lavender smell, not necessarily sweet. It had a great colour payoff and quite a few bubbles. I wouldn’t personally buy this just for the bubbles though. This would be really cute just to have in your washroom though. It also lasted quite some time which was nice as well. 

Next lets do bath bombs! 





Sex bomb was definitely a fizz and twilight was a froth. Both were beautiful!

Sex bomb definitely had a beautiful floral and jasmin smell. It made the bath a beautiful shade of pink. The only thing I personally wasn’t a fan of was the flower. It just turned into an ugly wet clump… I was hoping it would float on the top, not a big deal though. Sex bomb was my husbands favourite out of the two. 

Twilight was my favourite though… It was foamy, soft, first it was pink and then blue (turning the water a pretty purple!) it also had some sparkles which were gorgeous… What more could I ask for? Plus it smelled nice like vanilla and lavender – very sweet! 

Now let’s talk about FUN – no not that kind 😉



Fun really was well… Fun. Fun is a moldable soap that kind of feels and works like clay. It was such a beautiful colour of blue, it was so soft and foamy. You could easily mold things out of it or just squish it between your hands. When it’s wet you can use it to draw as well (either on the run or yourself). The blue one had a spa smell to it as well as lavender again which wasn’t overpowering but you could definitely smell it. My husband and I definitely had a lot of fun with this and we will definitely buy it again. 

Lastly massage bar! 



So this one was definitely a hit and miss for myself but hubby had no complaints. 

This works amazingly well… It’s very smooth, easy to heat up (just rub on the skin), absorbed easily, felt wonderful on the skin, didn’t cause break outs and was definitely fun to use. 

I will definitely get a massage bar again from lush just not this particular one. The bumps melted off very, very quickly and the smell is very overwhelming. I personally didn’t enjoy the smell, it was very strong and spicy. I really enjoy sweet smells and this just wasn’t a smell for me… 

On the other hand though my husband loved it. He wouldn’t want a floral or sweet smell so it was perfect for him. 

It was definitely fun trying all these products and my skin feels great. I can’t wait to go to LUSH again now since we used everything up and I definitely have a better idea on what I want to get next time. The store can definitely be overwhelming when you first go in with all the smells and things to look at. My favourite thing are still the bath bombs as I am a bath freak! 

Hey everyone!

Hello everyone! I haven’t posted in a few days because I have been trapped in a YouTube binge. Does this happen to anyone else where you just can’t stop watching YouTube videos?

Personally – I would love to start a YouTube channel but I think I would run out of content 😜 some of these channels are seriously awesome awesome.

I just kind of wanted to update you guys and let you know that I’m okay, I was sick all last week for the most part which hasn’t been much fun (hubby too!) so my days have mostly involved soup 😂 I will post a picture of this soup I have been making (potato chowder) that is seriously so good! 🍲

LUSH

I tried my first LUSH bath bomb today and I am absolutely hooked. If you haven’t taken the LUSH plunge yet… I would definitely get on that. 

I tried Dragon’s egg today and it was so beautiful. Looked like a creamsicle with golden sparkles ❤️✨ smelled like a beautiful citrus 🍊🍋. Plus I love the fact that it lingers on my skin.
